"The rapid growth of the drone industry has outpaced the development of rules and systems to govern their use. This uncertainty weighs on innovation and commercial adoption, but anticipated regulatory clarity should unlock demand." – Goldman Sachs - Drones : reporting for work.

Regulations for professionals

Regulations are different in every country and in some cases are nonexistent. Trying to understand them is often an arduous task. That’s why we are currently creating sheets summarizing the regulations and workflows of administrative procedures towards RPAS licencing for every country where BESIX is active. These sheets can be found on the SharePoint community DRONES or by following the links that are provided per country on the map below.

NB: These files are exclusively for use by BESIX employees. if you are planning to use drones in a country for which the workflow is not yet ready/created, please feel free to ask us. We’ll be glad to create it for you.

You can also have a look at ICAO guidelines for no drone zones worldwide. This can give you an idea of the situation, but please note that you should check with authorities as every country has different rules. Or you can use the more user friendly app AIRMAP. You may also download the app for mobile devices here.

Regulations for private use

Regulations are different in every country and in some cases are nonexistent. Trying to understand them is often an arduous task. The following database is comprised of a country directory with summaries of national drone laws. The objective is to provide humanitarian and non-humanitarian actors with a database of relevant national regulations, additional resources, and links to original regulatory documents to ensure that drones are deployed safely and in compliance with national regulations.
